Keeps Getting Better

This fine example of a 68 Firebird 400 has been in the shop for a while now. The car was previously restored and upgraded very very nicely but was presented in a stock form. It was brought to us to customize and detail the engine compartment for the “wow” factor. Although this is a Firebird 400, the engine that powers this bird is a 455 from the 71 model year. We have custom fabricated panels in the engine bay to give it a smooth custom tailored look. The engine which is a fresh rebuild is getting a slew of chrome upgrades and a March Performance serpentine drive kit to be used in conjunction with the Vintage Air unit that is being installed to keep things cool at the wheel. The exterior was previously done very nicely in the restoration and is mostly being left alone. We are replacing the 15” Rally II wheels with a set of 17” US Mags “Bandit” Series wheels that are reminiscent of the original Rally II wheels. Paired to them are a set of 17” redline Nitto 555G2 tires from Diamond Back Tires. To fill out the bigger wheels we are installing a 13” Big brake kit up front with custom painted  “Pontiac engine blue” brake calipers. To finish off the small details, the 400 emblems are being replaced with 455 emblems in the factory locations to show people this isn’t your average Firebird. The project is scheduled to be completed just in time for this driving season!
